Time to get rid of those winter blues and look forward to joining JJ and The Ramblers out on those hidden highways and byways of old England again:
1. Thursday August 1st at Wickham Festival: John and the Ramblers band will lead a walk on the beautiful South Downs to arrive at the opening of the festival and then play a set that evening before The Proclaimers .
2.September 26/27/28 Return to the North Lakes. Three days walking the rugged landscape of the North Lakes. A half day walk on the Thursday with a session in the evening. Then two great days of walking and evenings of music with JJ and RR in Threlkeld Village Hall. Further details to follow including when tickets will be available.

Save the dates now. JJ
Thanks JJ. Both dates are in our diary. Should we book hotel and Wickham festival now?
Should we book a hotel in the north lakes or would this be a package to book with you?🎶🎸

These are the dates when JJ and the band will be walking and performing. Everyone needs to make their own arrangements.
Wickham offer both day and weekend tickets. The walk will start in the morning (provisionally 10am) and finish shortly before the festival opens at 4pm.
Information about the walks in the Lakes in September will come available in early/mid summer. Tickets for the two shows in the Threlkeld Village Hall will be made available around the same time. Each show will be different.
Hi Tom (and JJ of course),
am I right in thinking that this ramble only needs one accommodation for the whole weekend as we’re starting and ending more or less centrally in Threkeld?
And please tell me, is Manchester again the nearest airport?
It’s great to be able to save the date so early, so I can organise my working dates easily. Thanks for that! It would be great if I could manage it again to take part in the walk and join the group of finest people. Now, I’ll check it out if I can make it.
I send you my warmest greetings from cold Germany!

Yes, one accommodation – Threlkeld will be our base. Manchester looks the best airport to me. Train and bus connections.
It’s cold here too but not as cold as you I bet!
Tom
Newcastle is just as convenient an airport as Manchester.
Can you keep me updated on the September walking dates & ticket availability.I know John from the Picos & common friend of Jim Thompson.
